Purvine Farms, SimAngus steers win Texas County Junior Livestock Show Commercial Pen Carcass contest.
Michael Wiebe of the Hooker FFA took first place honors on the rail with his pen of four SimAngus steers from Purvine Farms. Michael’s steers were all sons of YaHoo, besting the competition of 15 pens. His sister Alexis, placed 5th with her pen of four consisting of two YaHoo sons, one Meyer grandsons and one Sun Seeker steer. Congratulations to the Wiebe family. Texas County is not only the largest cattle feeding county in Oklahoma, but one of the largest in the United States.
